Varicocele - an abnormal enlargement of a vein in the testicles. Similar to a varicose vein, which is commonly found in the legs. A varicocele can appear in either testicle, but it is most often found on the left. On the outside, it may look like a tangle of blood vessels. It usually doesn’t cause pain, but in case of discomfort it can be surgically removed.
Vasectomy - a surgical procedure that severs or otherwise obstructs the small tube responsible for transferring the sperm to the semen (vas deferens). Men may have a vasectomy as a means of permanent birth control. In some cases, it can be surgically reversed.
